Appropriate farm tools are essential for increasing agricultural productivity. Although mechanized agriculture has received tremendous R & D inputs in the recent past, the same has not been the good fortune of simple human / bulocks powered implements used by majority of farmers.

Improved Implements / Machines for Rural Artisans
Rural Artisans have been a neglected lot and their tool / machine even more so. CSV, however, has a set a large store for/by them to improve their skills by R & D inputs and has brought out the following contributions to add to their productivity and to remove the drudgery.
A flywheel can store energy when available in excess and can supply to the machine when needed. This principle has been utilized for the artisans’ machines to increase their productivity and reduce the drudgery of the artisan.

Training of Rural Youth as Rural Mechanics
CSV ran regular courses for rural youth to become Rural Mechanics. The youth were trained in basic electrical fitting, plumbing, repair and maintenance of biogas plant, repair of household electrical devices, cooking stove, pressure cooker, mixture, grinder bicycle repair , To help the farmers they were also trained in repair of electric water pump, spray pump, drip irrigation system, agriculture tools ,bullock cart.bullock cart etc. For convenience of farmersThese students were given hands on training in villages before monsoon to repair bullock cart and all agriculture tools
